Raising a Hero Chao

1. Choose a hero character to raise your Chao. Hero characters include Sonic and Cream as of the Winter Update. If you already have a character chosen, go to the Resort Center and click the 'Change Player' option using the A button. Then, scroll through and choose Sonic or Cream and press A. It's important you use a hero character to raise your Chao, as it will make a hero Chao much faster by creating a bond between the Chao and the character.
2. Feed your Chao often. Neglecting your Chao may create an evil Chao, so you must be careful when trying to treat your Chao well. You should also feed your chao the correct fruit to help it grow faster and happier. You can buy fruit in the Resort Center by going to the 'Gift Shop' section.
3. Be careful not to kick your Chao. Kicking your Chao will make your Chao afraid of you and can create an evil Chao. Take caution when running in a resort, as you might kick a Chao when trying to go somewhere. If you do kick your Chao, pet them afterwards to bring their mood back up. To pet your Chao, press S while looking at them. If your Chao begins to cry, you should pet them more than just once or twice.
4. Pet your Chao. Petting your Chao makes them bond to your character, and using a hero character makes them follow your hero alignment. Pet your Chao when they begin to cry, or when their mood bar goes below 6 or 5. Keeping your Chao happy is a must.
5. Treat your Chao great until they evolve. When they evolve, they will become a hero Chao. After they evolve, make sure you treat them nicely. When they evolve, the dot on top of their head should be blue. If it goes from child to normal, it will appear with an angel halo on top of its head, angelic wings, tufts of hair on top of its head, and a bright yellow ring around its torso.

Raising a Neutral Chao

1. Choose a neutral character. As of the Winter Update, the only neutral character is Knuckles. If you already chose a character other than Knuckles, go to the Resort Center and click 'Change Player' using the A key. Then, scroll to Knuckles using the arrow keys and press A to change character.
2. Treat your Chao just like you would as a hero, but with a neutral character. Your Chaos will become fond of the neutral character and follow in their footsteps. Pet your Chao often, feed your Chao often, and most importantly put them in the Chao Games often. When a Chao is neutral, their color of the dot on top of their head is green.
3. Treat them nicely until they evolve. When your Chao evolves, be sure to continue their good treatment. Treating your Chao nicely can increase their performance in the Chao Games, bringing you more money to raise more Chaos.

Raising an Evil Chao With Abuse

1. Choose any character. An ideal character is Sonic or Cream, just to enforce that 'good is bad'. If you have a different character chosen already, go to the Resort Center, choose 'Change Player' using the A key, and scroll to Sonic or Cream using the arrow keys and press A.
2. Kick your Chao around. Kicking your Chao makes your Chao afraid of you and makes them much more angry. To kick your Chao, while walking toward them, hold S until you run into them and knock them forward. Your Chao should be on the ground with birds spinning around their head.
3. If your Chao has a swim stat lower than 10, throw them in the water. This'll make them flail as if they were drowning, and ruin their mood. To put them in the water, press A on your Chao and walk into the water, then press A when prompted. To put them in an infinite cycle, position yourself in front of the Chao if they were facing land. Your Chao will attempt to fly out of the water but will get stuck on you.
4. Feed them rarely.A good way to do this is to only feed them when their hunger bar is below two. They will be hungry often, but you cannot starve your Chao. If they cry, ignore the fact they're crying, because you cannot change their alignment to hero.
5. Never pet your Chao.Petting your Chao causes them to grow fond of your character, and if you're using any other character but Shadow, this will cause their alignment to change to your character's alignment slowly. If you pet your Chao on accident, kick them around for a while to make sure they don't shift to your current alignment.
6. Continue this mistreatment until they evolve. After they evolve, you can treat them as badly as you'd like. When they evolve, the dot ontop of their head should be purple, and they should have a spiky dot on their head, a crooked teardrop tip, and demonic styled wings.

Raising an Evil Chao Using Shadow

1. Choose the character Shadow. If you already have a character chosen, go to the Resort Center and highlight 'Change Player', then press A. Using the arrow keys, scroll through the characters until you find Shadow and press A.
2. Treat your Chao as if they were a hero Chao. Don't pick Sonic or Cream, though, so your Chaos grow fond of Shadow and follow his evil alignment. Pet your Chao and feed your Chao often, and put them in the Chao Games a lot to increase their stats.
3. Treat them nicely until they evolve. After they evolve, you can abuse them using good characters like the last method, or stay as Shadow and treat them nicely. When they evolve, the dot ontop of their head should be purple. In addition, they should have a spiky dot on top of their head, demonic style wings, and a crooked teardrop top on their head.
